Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save;

neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear.

-Isaiah 59:1-

Many of us have found ourselves in a dark "well", an alley from which we do not see the way out; desperate, in search of something. Not because we lack the material, but because we need to fill a huge void of love within. For years we have tried to occupy ourselves by going down many so-called “normal” paths such as drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, sex, violence, impulsive purchases, and light decision-making. The experience we have had in this regard is that contrary to filling the gaps, all this has transformed them into ever deeper abysses. Because we have been unintentionally digging in the wrong direction, not to get out of the well which is what we need, but to sink deeper.

So from these "normal" paths we have not really obtained any satisfactory results, until one day someone shows us true love; by taking us into his arms, listening to us and giving us the attention we need. He loves us as we are, without conditions. He takes care of us and calls us to walk on a very different path from the one we had known, filling the void that we had; that person is Jesus and he is waiting for you. He is with his hand extended for you to come out of the well whatever it is, this is what is truly important, he listens to you, his ear is attentive. God's love does not end! He loves us not because of what we do or don't do, nor because of what we say or don't say, He loves us because he decided to do it!

Prayer

My Lord Jesus Christ; Come into my life today, I need You, I want You to fill the deep emptiness that I have, I can't take it anymore, I give up, do what you have to do to fill my life with that substance that I really need and only You have: "Love".

Amen.
