Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
-Psalm 32:1
There are all kinds of "weights" that we drag. Some of them suffocate and sink to extreme depths, causing almost irreparable damage.
I think of all the good things, how much we can do and don't do, what we should have done and didn't do, or what we could have said and didn't say. If we tried to record those moments in a book, we would lack pages to make a record, and if it were an account, we would always be in debt. All this inevitably leads us to feel guilty, to the point of not having peace of mind, finding ourselves scared, mired in sadness, without motivation or strength. That is the real danger, letting yourself be enveloped by the torment of a guilt, which seems unable to amend itself.
Some moments and episodes of life will be like those chapters that can never be edited humanly. When the damage is done, the only way to alleviate that guilt is to hand it over to Jesus, so as not to lie buried under the deceit of the enemy of our souls, who dictates to thought the sentence of not being able to be forgiven. This is not the case with Christ. He drew a path of redemption, suffering the guilt for us, paying the price of all sin so that nothing and no one could accuse us.
He erased the guilt, writing a new story in our lives of redemption, restoration, healing of emotions, feelings, thoughts and body. We do not have to drag with the bad that we did in the past, or the good that we stopped doing; Even if there was no opportunity to make amends, because even if knowing our new identity with Christ we fail, He can forgive us again ... it would be better not to repeat the offense to avoid going through the pain of having had such a great salvation that God has given us little. given through his Son Jesus Christ. The truth is that because of his sacrifice on the cross nothing can accuse us.
Every time I think about the loss of loved ones, those who are no longer by my side, and knowing that I cannot turn back time, I have felt sadly guilty, as it passed through my mind: thoughts, images, the echo of many words , what I could have said or done to make their lives happier, express admiration, respect, gratitude and joy for their achievements, because I cannot change it; the opportunity passed. However, I can now have a different attitude with those that remain. And I have to spare, the love that Christ has put in my life, without drowning in guilt. Breathe hope, show the fruit of all that His Word sows, and not the sterility that the world undermines, inside our being, pretending that we carry burdens, which Jesus has already carried for us. We have been forgiven.
It is necessary now, when there is still opportunity and time, to show God our love, receive that of Christ, ask for forgiveness and accept it, by making our hearts his own, so as not to carry the burden of guilt, sinking into the obstinacy of the thoughts.
Would you lose yourself in time dragging the guilt for your past, or would you be willing for Christ to transform your present, to ensure the future of your life?
Prayer
Thank you precious Jesus for forgiving all my sins, erasing my guilt, writing in my life a new story of redemption and freedom, nothing and no one can accuse me! Help me to live in your love, to follow your steps so as not to open the doors of my heart to everything that does not please you. Christ I love you!
